Petty Officer First Class Brendan Kaufman is a native of Philadelphia, PA and enlisted in the Coast Guard in 2007. His first assignment was Station Eaton’s Neck in Northport New York. Subsequent assignments included Coast Guard Cutter Bear, home-ported in Portsmouth Virginia, and Base National Capital Region Washington, DC where he currently serves as a lead Information Systems Technician at the Electronics Support Detachment.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Luis Caquias is a native of Waterbury, CT and enlisted in the Coast Guard in 2007. His first assignment was the CGC MATINICUS, home ported in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Subsequent assignments include Electronics Support Detachment Detail Pascagoula, MS and Base National Capital Region Washington, DC where he served as an Information Systems Technician. He commissioned in 2013 after selection to the Direct Commission Engineer program (C4IT). Currently, LTJG Caquias is assigned to Coast Guard Headquarters where he's responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure for the entire service.
Boatswain’s Mate Second Class Eric Thompson is a native of Canton, Michigan and enlisted in the Coast Guard in 2012. After completing Basic Training, he was assigned to the USCGC SEA HAWK (WPB-87323) homeported in Panama City Beach, FL. Aboard, he served as Quarter Master of the Watch, Boarding Team Member, and Boat Crew Member in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. BM2 Thompson is currently assigned to Coast Guard Station Washington where he serves as a Tactical Coxswain on the 29-ft Response Boat-Small. In addition to traditional Coast Guard missions of Search and Rescue and Law Enforcement, BM2 Thompson works alongside a multitude of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to detect, deter, and defend against terrorist attacks in the waters around our Nation’s Capital.
