Shaun Dion Hamilton - Redskins Rookie and Military Kid

The Redskins picked up two Crimson Tide players in the 2018 draft, one being LB Shaun Dion Hamilton.  The 6-foot Linebacker from Alabama was raised in a military home – his father a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve.  His father’s drive and discipline is something that has been instilled in Shaun from a young age.  When he got his driver’s license at 16, Shaun would wake up at 5:30 every morning to train before heading to school and practice.

This work ethic has carried over into other aspects of Shaun’s life. In high school, Shaun was class valedictorian. While at Alabama, he received a 3.4 GPA was voted a permanent captain during his senior season. Shaun's competitive drive and work ethic help bring out the best in him and set him apart from his competitors.

In his four seasons with Alabama, Shaun appeared in 33 games and  134 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
